Ingredients

2 cups Flour Sifted
1/2 lb Butter Softened
6 oz Cream Cheese 2 small or most of one large brick at room temperature.
2 Egg Yolk
Cake or Pastry Fruit Filling Solo brand.
1/2 cup Powered sugar

    Catherine Giovenco Sumerdon started making these cookies in the 1960s.  It is still a family favorite. No sugar! Based on Polish and Czechoslovakian recipes.

    Steps

    Mix softened butter and cream cheese.

    Add egg yolk.

    Mix into sifted flour.

    Roll out very thin on a wooden, floured, cutting board.

    Use a square ravili cutter to cut into 2 inch squares.

    Add a small dollop of Solo filling.

    Favorite flavors include: Apricot, cherry, almond, prune.

    Fold diagonal corners in to look like a bow tie.

    Fork gently to pinch down.

    Bake on greased cookie sheet.

    Cool and decorate with sifted powered sugar.
